Review: My Evolve Cima Built to Order — 6,48 kg

Review: Mi Evolve Cima a la Carta — 6,48 kg

It is rare to get a bike below the 6.5 kg threshold. After this build, we can confirm that the Evolve Cima ranks as one of the most competitive climbing/racing bikes on the current market.

The Build in Detail

Feel and Strengths

After a few weeks testing my custom build of the Evolve CIMA, I can say the following:

Evolve Cima Frame: The Big Revelation

The frame (weighing just ~650 g in T1100 carbon) demonstrates that the new generation of Asian development brands has caught up with the industry's giants.

  • Stiffness and Integration: The bottom bracket and headset areas transmit all the power without noticeable flex.

  • Geometry: Aggressive and highly responsive. The bike enters corners with millimetric precision and feels lively with every change of pace.

The synergy of the Raceit ecosystem (Cybrei + Elite Wheels)

Taking advantage of the Raceit catalog to combine key components has been the real success of this build:

  • Cybrei Crankset: Aesthetically spectacular, with a weight that puts the stock chainrings and cranks of major brands to shame.

  • Wheels: Elite Wheels Drive II: They have incredible responsiveness on climbs. The carbon spokes provide lateral stiffness that is immediately noticeable when standing on gradients over 10%.

Shaving grams where it matters

The Overfast axles and the Neutron cassette are the details that make the difference. Replacing the peripheral components with ultralight carbon options has made it possible to shave off those key ~200 grams without losing Dura-Ace shifting precision.

Pros and Cons

The best:

  • Weight/Performance Ratio: 6.48 kg ready to ride with a power meter and disc brakes.

  • Aesthetics and Cleanliness: The Dura-Ace groupset, together with the Cybrei carbon finish and 100% internal cable routing, gives it the appearance of a bicycle over €12,000.

  • Accessible maintenance: BSA threaded bottom bracket, exceptionally easy to maintain without creaking.

Things to consider:

  • Gearing adjustment: Third-party ultralight monobloc cassettes require fine-tuning of the rear derailleur to work with 100% Shimano smoothness.

  • Pure racing geometry: It is a demanding bike, designed for speed and climbing, not relaxed touring.

Conclusion

This build demonstrates that Raceit hit the mark by bringing this range of components. The Evolve Cima not only matches or beats the weight of frames that cost twice as much, but also allows you to create a custom build where every gram and every euro count. A responsive, stiff and lightweight climbing bike.
